About Tom

Tom Niemisto is the video production specialist at Minnesota 2020, a new media public policy think tank in Minnesota. Tom graduated from St. Olaf College with a degree in music and media studies. In 2003 he was a Rotary International Exchange Student in Warsaw, Poland. School, music, and adventures have brought him to Finland, Morocco, and New York.
Tom attended the Media Institute for Social Change and has taught a radio documentary course focusing on social change and public policy in the Twin Cities. His work has been broadcast on WAMC Albany, KFAI Minneapolis, Oregon Public Broadcasting, Planet Forward, and the Huffington Post.
Tom is also an avid cellist, playing everything from bluegrass to indie-rock to quartets to classical symphonies.
