About Kevin

Kevin is a director, writer and producer with 20 years of experience behind and in front of the camera. He has narrowed his focus over the past few years to become more laser guided on writing and directing and has had two scripts optioned and has been commisioned to write others. His screenplay for the military action paranormal thriller CLASSIFIED was optioned by two different companies and has been in development for a few years. Kevin and his team put together a short film as a result of testing a prototype camera system that he created for the film. The short CLASSIFIED has gone on to several film festivals and won several awards including Best Super Short Horror Film at Shriekfest LA 2017. Currently Kevin is seeking new partners for the feature version.

As a director Kevin has directed reenactments for America's Most Wanted and segments for various tv shows including Millionaire Matchmaker. He has directed several music videos including three for Latin Grammy Winner Beto Quevas. The video for his song Quiero Creer featuring Flo Rida was the number one video in Latin America and Mexico for 10 straight weeks. His short film Military Husband, about a man who struggles to cope after his soldier wife is sent to the war in Iraq, is currently playing in various festvals around the country.

Most of Kevin's career has been spent as a cinematographer. His work includes over 200 TV series, several music videos, short films, award winning documentaries, and feature films. As director of photography for the series called PLAYERS on Spike TV starring Matt Walsh and Ian Roberts, Kevin designed the first workflow from acquisition to post using P2 cards as a recording medium. This was the first television show to shoot without tape or film and his method is the standard practice for data wrangling and media management today.

A two time graduate of Lew Hunter's Superior Screenwriting Colony Kevin has several properties that he is working to get into production.

  • Ripley's Believe It or Not!

    Ripley's Believe It or Not! (2001 - 2003)
Television (Reality-TV) Camera and Electrical Department Ripley's Believe It or Not! is a curious format, sort of a 'Guiness Book of Records'-like magazine on TV. It has no permanent cast or storyline, just a presenting host in the castle-type LA residence who occasionally shows curiosities from 'Ripley's vault' there, but usually simply introduces the topics shown in the various, rather short film sequences shot all over the world, in addition to which some weird facts (e.g. absurd laws) can be quickly reviewed. Each report -usually independent, follow-up is rare- is on something very unusual, surprising and/or spectacular, such as inventions, stunts and records, freak creatures and - accidents. Sometimes the title is taken literally when a few of the least likely items are bunched up for the viewer to guess which one isn't true. Written by KGF Vissers
