Cory hails from the distant land of Nebraska. In 2010, Cory received B.F.A.’s in both acting and directing from Nebraska Wesleyan University and has since focused on his careers in film production and youth theatre, in addition to his usual acting endeavors.
Immediately after college graduation in 2010, Cory sought his sights high in forming a short-term Shakespearean theatre comapany: Stewards of Shakespeare (S.O.S.). The mission was simple: by utilizing an audience-friendly and communication-focused performance layout structured by Cory and J. Parker Reed (former university professor of Cory) they would bring the under-appreciated side of Shakespeare to the masses of Lincoln, NE via free performances that toured parks of the city. This was the first company of its kind to focus specifically on the Lincoln, NE area, and has since paved the way to be a milestone in Lincoln's artistic community ongoing companies of this similar structure.
He was a proud board member of the Lofte Community Theatre from 2012-2014, during which he established the Lofte Theatre’s first ever ongoing youth theatre program. In 2012, he volunteered with the Lincoln Arts Council for a wonderful (albeit short) term as a Social Media/Marketing Intern, as well as started working with Youth Actors Academy of Lincoln.
Now residing in sunny Los Angeles, Cory is within the throngs of bringing his film career to its peak. Alongside compatriot/counterpart/brother Kelly Misek (), Cory is quickly becoming the best-kept-(not-so-secret)-secret of the artistic and film community of Los Angeles. Cory is currently Associate Producer of the film Schmoolie: The Deathwatcher (), shooting late this August. He is also involved with the "rebirth" of LA's award-winning Tryptych Theatre, founded by Jamie Wallrob (), highly acclaimed Acting Coach/Producer/Director/Actor.
Memorable directing credits include: an award-winning production of "Almost, Maine" at the 2013 NACT statewide competition (The Lofte Theatre – 2013); the 2012 galactic premiere of a new Star Wars stage musical entitled "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Death Star" written by Curt Bright of The String Beans music group (Youth Actors Academy of Lincoln – 2012); Shakespeare’s "Love’s Labour’s Lost" (Stewards of Shakespeare – 2010 Summer parks tour troupe founded by Cory); "Rabbit Hole" by David Lindsay-Abaire (2009).
Notable acting credits include: Leo Bloom in "The Producers" (The Lofte Theatre – 2013); NACT winner of best actor for his performance of Dave in "Almost, Maine" (NACT – 2013); Angel in "Rent" (2010).
