Everything I have done so far; from my high school performances to the military, is a stepping stone towards becoming an actress. During my time in high school, I joined the National Forensic League and performed monologues that had won me multiple awards within my school district for an outstanding performance. I played a seven year old autistic girl and had to portray the hardship and beauty that was her life.
After high school, I had enlisted into the army so that I could gain life experience, a worldly view, and provide the means for a Performing Arts program. Within the Military I worked as a Human Intelligence (HUMINT) Collector which was a fancy way of saying interrogator. I had chosen this job because it was like real world acting. As a HUMINT Collector, I learned how to change my personality in order to gain the trust of others around me so that I could exploit them for Intel. I would think up of different personas; change my attitude, develop different habits, and make up different background stories to better fit my targets and gain their trust. It was all acting for me. I also had a chance to meet people with different cultural backgrounds, went to different countries, and experienced things not many people got a chance to do.
I feel that the military has helped me gain insight into different human behavior patterns which will make me a better actress. My next step will be to get out of the military, and go into a performing arts program to better develop my skills. Becoming an actress is something I have always wanted, and there is nothing that will stand in my way of me achieving my goal.
