Daniel started concentrating seriously on Art again in 2009 after leaving it behind for nearly a decade when he left Art school to become a travelling musician. With his passion for Art fully restored Daniel had the confidence to enter his first open Art Exhibition in Portsmouth in 2010 and won the People’s choice Award. That gave the confidence Daniel needed to enter a second open Art Exhibition in 2012 and won 1st prize judges award and then again this year, 2014, he won first prize judges choice award for the second consecutive exhibition in a row.
Daniel gets his inspiration from many different things but mainly from the challenge of capturing a likeness in portraits and textures and light from nature.
Daniel's favourite Artist is the 16th Century Baroque Painter Michelangelo Merisi Da Caravaggio, an incredibly influential Artist combining a realistic observation of the Human state both physical and emotional, with a dramatic use of lighting. Daniel even has Michelangelo's portrayal of David and Goliath tattooed on his arm!
In 2011 Daniel was commissioned to paint a mural for the Royal Navy at Portsmouth's historical Dockyard opened by Princess Ann. In 2012 Daniel was commissioned to paint a second Mural for the Royal Navy this time at The Royal Navy Submarine Museum Gosport.
An extremely talented and pro-active artist mean Daniel's work is getting noticed as well as getting great feedback.
