Davide Morabito is an Italian writer and director, and independent producer. His credits include backstage and assistant director roles on over two dozen fictional film and television projects; over 20 "making of" commissions for Italian films and TV series (including for Warner Brothers Italy, Universal Italy, and Italy's largest productions companies); and documentaries, reportages and commercials for social agencies including Legambiente (Italy's top environmental NGO) and Smile Train (world’s largest cleft charity), for which he filmed throughout Africa and the Middle East. He taught an annual Production seminar at Europe's oldest and Italy's most prestigious film school, Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (2004-2009). His short film 'The State of the Art', which he co-produced and co-directed, was the category winner at the 2007 Rome Film Festival. He directed the pilot episode of the Sky Arte series "Invisible Italy" and the registered scenes for the prime time show on Rai 1 "The Italians are always right". He is the Cinematographer for the documentary "Like a Pebble in the boot" in competition at VIFF. He is the director of the Documentary Month Festival, of Doc/it and Casa Del Cinema. He collaborates as a producer, director, and consultant with some of the most important Italian productions for the development of the projects. He is a member of the board of Doc/it, the Italian documentarist association. With his production company DMPA, he is producing international co-production projects, including non-fiction feature-length movies, with several different Countries around the world.
