For the fifth year in a row, Jerry Beck of Cartoon Brew will be screening a selection of spooky, kooky, strange and creepy Halloween-related cartoons – using vintage prints in 16mm and 35mm that range from ghoulishly red Eastmancolor to gorgeously garish Technicolor. Everyone from Koko The Clown to Casper the Friendly Ghost will be there in costume and on the big screen, along with black and white classics starring Oswald Rabbit, Flip The Frog, Bosko, Bimbo, Scrappy, Puddy, Popeye – even Waffles and Don – and all the famous monsters of filmland. I have been a freelance animator for over two years now. A studio I have worked for in the past approached me for a staff position. I have done really well as a freelancer and will make slightly less money as a staffer. However the prospect of steady work intrigues me. I know it a decision I have to make on my own but I was wondering what anyone else s thoughts on Staff vs Freelance are.

The whole thing was completed from concept to final render in 4 months using 3DS Max as the main modeling and rendering tool, and XSI as their main animation package. No live action was used at all in the opening. Everything was entirely CG.
