About Lee

Hello!

I'm a director based in NYC. I specialize in music videos and short form narrative content.

I studied oil painting and performance art at PrattMWP and The Cooper Union.

I'm also an Asian transracial adoptee, who was born in Hawaii, put into foster care, and raised in an Irish-American family, mostly in Upstate NY. My Dad is a Vietnam veteran raised in the South Bronx, my Mom was raised "all over the south" before her family settled in MA. Before I was adopted, my family lived in Japan, so even though my family is Irish-American, I grew up eating Japanese cuisine, with Japanese phrases spoken at home and living in a house that was decorated with Japanese decorations. I'm not Japanese though, I'm believed to be "mostly" Vietnamese, with biological father unknown to this day.

This is all to say that I come to filmmaking with a bit of a unique lens. I love working with people and communities from all walks of life - socially, politically, culturally. As an adoptee, we live with the fact that who we are... could have been anyone. Nature vs Nurture is my foundation, so exploring identities - characters, stories, beliefs, from around the world is fascinating to me.
