About Russ

Russ Lindway wrote his first feature screenplay – CRUSHING – in 2012. It achieved a top-10% finish in the Academy Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting in 2013 (then titled THE AMAZING GRETCHEN).

His second screenplay – THE SORROW VEIL – earned First Place (Drama) honors in the Creative World Awards screenplay contest, a Top-5 Finalist finish in the Austin Film Festival Screenplay Competition and the Grand Prize in the Toronto Metropolitan International Screenplay Competition.

Lindway’s third screenplay, the period psychological/paranormal horror narrative, HUSH THE SHADOWS, is currently in the very suspenseful pre-option phase. This was followed by the sprawling, crime/road adventure that takes place on Route 66 during the Mother Road’s heyday, NEON SUNDOWN, which placed high in several international screenwriting competitions.

In 2020 Lindway wrote the pandemic-set, Black Lives Matter-themed THE NEAR DISTANCE, which became an Official Selection in the 2021 Diversity Film and Script Showcase and took First Place (Drama screenplay) in the 2021 International Indie Gathering Film Festival competition.

In 2022 his gender relations-themed horror screenplay, PURITY, was optioned by Good Deed Entertainment/Cranked Up Films. The completed feature, REPLICATOR, with story and co-screenwriter credits for Lindway, was released in theaters and to streaming and On-Demand in the fall of 2024.

His fantasy-tinged suspense thriller, MERE MORTALS, was named an Official Selection in the 2023 Crime List competition and was honored with the special Creative Concept/Inspirational Spirit Award in the 2023 Creative World Awards screenplay contest. It also won Best Drama/Suspense Feature Screenplay and Best Overall Screenplay at the 2023 International Indie Gathering Film Festival.

Lindway’s first feature comedy, THE PLOT, THICKINS!, was named an Official Selection in the 2024 Portland Comedy Film Festival and won Best Feature Screenplay honors at the 2024 International Indie Gathering Film Festival.

All eight of Lindway's screenplays feature strong female lead characters.

Unique traits: Incredible patience.
