Rowan has trained at a variety of institutions including the University of Queensland, the Howard Fine Actors Studio, The Film and Television Studio International and is a graduate of Greg Apps’ “How to Get More Auditions”. He has appeared in varied roles in theatre, some of Australia’s most well loved TV series and numerous short and feature films as well as appearing in numerous national and international TV commercial campaigns.
Rowan will soon make his next appearance on stage in Williamstown Little Theatre’s production of “Over the River and Through the Woods” and was last year awarded the Victorian Drama League Gold Award for Best Actor in a Minor Role for his performance as The Waiter/Frank in Williamstown Little Theatres production of “Farragut North”. Rowan has recent appearances on Australian TV series, “Party Tricks”, “Winners and Losers” and “Wentworth” and continues to work with student film makers and writers in short films and web series.
Rowan is an accomplished musician, 2013 Queensland Eisteddfod Champion Baritone and a previous Drum Major and principal Trombonist for Queensland Champion brass band Cairns Brass. He is a trade qualified Carpenter/Builder and Project Manager with previous service time in the Royal Australian Navy Reserve. He currently resides in Melbourne with his wife Genine, their son Jack and baby girl Frankie.
