Biography

Sasho Ognenovski is anactor, director and writer,born and raised in Macedonia. At theage of 23, he graduated from theFaculty of Dramatic Arts in Skopje Macedonia, earning his BA in Acting. The same year,he was employedat the National Theatre in Bitola. For more thantwo decades, he performed main roles in the plays of classic and contemporary world authors. His credits include classic authors like Shakespeare (11 roles), Sophocleus, Euripides, Alexander Dumas, N.V. Gogol, Alfred de Musset, Mikhail Bulgakov, Bertolt Brecht, Luigi Pirandello, Edmond Rostand, Lope de Vega, Carlo Goldoni, GerogesFeydau, Mark Twain, Giovanni Bocaccio, F.G.Lorka, Alfred Jarry, Maksim Gorki, Samuel Becket, and contemporary dramatists like SlawomirMrozek, David Ives, Nikolay Kolyada, Eric-Emanuel Schmidt, Sarah Kane, F.S.Fitzgerald, Heiner Muller. He has performed on stages and at festivalsaround the world including: Sofia, Istanbul, Wroclaw, Grenoble, Moscow, St.Petersburg, Chisinau, Tashkent, Belgrade, Zagreb, Ljubljana, Tirana, Sidney, Melbourne, Newcastle etc. He also directed several Macedonian plays and has writtenthree poetry books (Avalanche, The Fruits of Hell, and Desert flower), four plays for children, and two plays for adults. Sasho Ognenovski is active in the scientific field and, in2002,he earned his MA in Communications. During thenext 10 years, he attended conferences in London, Sofia, Toronto, Santiago del Compostela (study visit), Gothernburg, Oslo.His play, Citadel, is the second play he has written.
