Stronger
(
Film (short)
by Claes Lilja (Drama)
Editor A contemporary adaptation of the classic play, The Stronger, by August Strindberg, set in contemporary L.A. and features two men in the lead roles traditionally played by women. It adds many layers of intricacy to a startlingly simple, yet famously complex story. It consists entirely of a single conversation between two very handsome actors who run into one another by chance in a West Hollywood bar on Christmas Eve. One of them doesn't even speak, yet manages to say volumes as they engage in a psychological wrestling match to see who is stronger. The film lends itself to many layers of interpretation and although it takes only 12 minutes to watch, one can easily spend hours thinking about it afterward. Written by Anonymous

Editor When you think of extreme sports you think of highly competitive, tatted-up, bad-boys with little regard for their own safety whose sole mission is to push the limits of physics beyond the edge of what is thought possible. But there's a whole other layer that fuels their cutting-edge quest -- the gorgeous, fearless, women who love them. Together these two elements merge to form the nucleus of VH1's newest original series "The X Life." "X Life" will follow some of the biggest names in action sports: Pierre Luc Gagnon (Vert Skater) and his girlfriend Denise Russo; Cory "Nasty" Nastazio (BMX Dirt Jumper) and his girlfriend Nicole Panattoni; and Jeremy "Twitch" Stenberg (FMX) and his wife Susie Stenberg. All of these men have earned their place in the sports history books. As for the ladies, they have their own careers from helping to manage and market their husband's careers to being a top model to being a mom. But when these guys are on tour you can bet the women are nearby as these ... Written by VH1
Out for the Long Run
(
Film
by Scott Bloom (Documentary, Family and Sports Drama)
Editor, Producer, Director The film's focus is on a handful of openly gay high school and college athletes as they navigate the turbulent waters of their uncertain world. Utilizing footage shot by our cameras and video diaries kept throughout the year, we will show the world a new generation of courage in what could be the most homophobic place on a high school campus: the locker room. At a time where young gay men and women are literally being bullied to death, this film's poignant message is, there is hope. This film will bring to light stories of triumph and tragedy when young people are forced to follow their passion for sports with the handicap of social stigma dogging their every step. We'll also take a look at how the atmosphere for young people in high school has changed both for the good, and not so good. Current openly gay professional and collegiate athletes will help us round out the picture of what these amazing young men and women are up against physically and emotionally as they excel in their ... Call Me Troy
(
Film
by Scott Bloom (Biography and Documentary)
Editor, Producer, Director Call Me Troy is a truly inspirational story about a remarkable and dynamic individual whose activism was decades ahead of its time. Rev. Perry is perhaps best known as the founder of the Metropolitan Community Church - the first church to recognize the spiritual needs of the gay community - but his "firsts" don't stop there. He was the first openly gay person to serve on the Los Angeles County Commission on Human Relations. In 1969, Perry performed the first public same-sex wedding in the U.S., and in 1970 he filed the first-ever lawsuit seeking legal recognition for same-gender marriages. From presidential advisor to outspoken advocate, Perry has been on the front lines leading the charge for equal rights and protections for gay men and lesbians the world over as well as providing a place for all people, gay and straight, to worship side by side. This film celebrates his life and his legacy. Written by Anonymous

Original Pride: The Satyrs Motorcycle Club
(
Film
by Scott Bloom (Documentary)
Editor, Producer, Director, Writer The year was 1954. Stanley Kramer's stylized film portrayal of America's rebellious youth, The Wild Ones, the original motorcycle movie featuring leather-clad icon Marlon Brando, splashed across the silver screen. Americans were healing from the scars of World War II, and gay veterans were exploring ways to covertly meet other masculine men. The Satyrs Motorcycle Club of Los Angeles was there at the beginning of this new era. It was the start of a gay motorcycle club revolution which influenced the creation of other clubs across the nation. This emerging club culture was the means to an end for meeting and socializing with other gay leather-motorcycle buddies. "Original Pride" is a journey into the legendary Satyrs Motorcycle Club and offers a look at the men who were there and frames their stories, memories and influences on the leather community. Archive footage and vintage photographs reveal how these men shaped gay culture. In addition, it examines how the ever-changing ... Written by Scott Bloom
