Originally from the UK and with a background in writing comedy for her theatre company ‘Performing Tarts’, Fiona moved to Australia and started developing her craft as a screenwriter.
In 2011 she began having TV & Film projects optioned by Australian production companies, and in 2016 she received funding to attend the National Screenwriters' Conference from Screen QLD, who also selected her to pitch a thriller feature to Roadshow films and two TV series to SBS. In 2017 her anthology 'The Flight' was longlisted for the AWG's Prime Time competition and drama series '22 Weeks' was shortlisted for Screen Australia's Hot Shots Plus initiative and ScreenCraft's Film Fund, as well as being shortlisted for the Screen QLD/Stan Development Initiative (2020).
In 2018 she was chosen for Screen QLD’s ‘Retold’ initiative, developing a thriller feature with US script consultant Wendall Thomas and in 2021 she became a member of the Australian Writers’ Guild QLD committee.
Fiona has recently been hired to re-write tech thriller feature ‘Second Skin’ (Picture Co.) and is developing thriller series 22 Weeks, with funding from Screen NSW. She plans to continue working on both Australian and International productions.
