Henry Maybury: Lost Days
(
Video
(Short and Music)
Cinematographer Lost Days contains a short film within itself as it follows the relationship between an alcoholic and his family, an original song created by up and coming artist Henry Maybury. The song itself falls under the genre of pop/rock. The lyrics reflect the artist's own experiences as alcoholic abuse overcame his brother. Lost Days, directed and produced by Matthew Steggles, follows the lyrics of the song very closely, with a primary emphasis on the family's reactions to their brother/son behaviour. Alexander Thompson, performs the alcoholic 'John' as a stubborn character who neglects all help from his family. John tries to fight his addiction, but temptation of another drink overpowers every time, providing escapism for him. The mother of John; Bernadette O'Brien 'Kate' is distressed from how helpless she has become with her son. Kate tries everything in her power to help John, but it only forces her son to push her further away. To make matters worse, time is running out. This Music Video... Written by Matthew Steggles
