  • Devotion

    Devotion (2014)
Documentary Director & Cinematographer This is meant to be viewed as a single-channel video installation with a large projection in a black-box like scenario. The shallow depth of field, extreme close-ups and removal of color is meant to remove these portraits from the contexts that normalize them. The hand-held quality of the camera work is meant to add emphasis to the observer and the mediation taking place through the camera. If the camera places us and these faces somewhere, where are we? Where are they?
