Nan Schmid

Is a playwright, screenwriter, and actor. Her script, The Language of Wolves, is a finalist in the 2023 Austin Film Festival. It has been a finalist in The Writer’s Lab, The Athena Labs, Vail and Shore Screenplay Contest. and more It was a finalist in the 2019 PAGE Awards and has placed as a finalist or semi-finalist in every major competition.

My screenplay, Scapegoat ! is a quarter-finalist in the Nicholl Awards and in many other competitions including PAGE Awards and AFF.

My screenplay, Divination, was a finalist in WeScreenplay and a second-rounder in AFF.

And my short screenplay, The Cursing Tree, was also a second-rounder in AFF.

I have written and produced two plays, Tallulah and Jawbone of an Ass, to critical acclaim. And wrote a new play titled, Along The Road To Civilization.

I just finished, The Cursing Tree, into a full-length feature, a dark comedy horror/comedy about, the Witches hanged in Salem who come back and open an abortion clinic.
