Hana Saleh

Hanaa Saleh Alfassi is a passionate and prolific Filmmaker who currently creates and resides in The City of Angels. From a very young age, she has been creatively inclined, which ultimately led her down the path of becoming an award-winning Writer and Director with over a decade of expertise. Hanaa's culturally diverse Moroccan and Saudi background and her travels to different countries has granted her a unique, well-rounded perspective of life that is prevalent throughout many of her works. Hanaa received her B.A. in Mass Communication & Media Studies from Ain Shams University and her M.A. in Film & Media Production from New York Film Academy, along with a certificate in filmmaking from the Academy of Cinema Arts and Technology under the tutelage of the lauded Egyptian writer and director Ra'afat Almihi. Additionally, Hanaa is adept in Cinematography, where she works with 35mm, 16mm, and Digital Red Cameras. As a Cinematographer, she has seen numerous waves of success starting with a short YouTube film that surpassed a million views. Hanaa then went on to produce a feature documentary that was aired on the famous Middle-Eastern TV network, Aljazeera Documentary. Since 2003 and over the years, she has had the pleasure of working with reputable companies, including Warner Brothers Summer Records, MBC, Vizyon, Luxury Events, KAUST, and a multitude of others. Furthermore, two of her short films which were aired on the renowned MBC TV were watched by millions of viewers.

Throughout her Filmmaking career, Hanaa has received numerous awards, including "Best Experimental Director" in 2010 at the Int. American Film Festival and the Winner of the "Silver Award" in 2011 at the California Film Awards.

When she's not immersed in the realm of film, Hanaa loves to play video games and read great books (especially pertaining to philosophy and psychology). Since she was seven years old, she has enjoyed playing tennis and piano and was a proud owner of several unusual pets-a farm of ants and purple worms. Taking her creativity outside of filmmaking, she even published an Arabic poetry book entitled, "Bleep - The Vigilance Near Death Experience" in 2009. Knowing no limitations, Hanaa also runs her very own blog and posts regularly.
