Eric Kingsbury

I graduated from Ryerson University's film school in Toronto, Canada in 2018, and have since been honing my craft as a writer, director, editor, colorist, and doing whatever else I can get my hands on in the film world. I like to pitch myself as a well-rounded person and atypical artist from the most typical of film schools. Growing up, I was an avid reader and lover of film and filmmaking, but I'm also a passionate sports fan, am interested in business, marketing, management of people, and I like to party every so often. That separated me slightly from my cohorts in school, as my life wasn't solely devoted to art. My primary focus in the film business is that of writing for the screen. I started writing seriously a year and a half ago, just before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and while that sidelined me from the real world for a long time, it provided an unexpected opportunity to explore what my life as a professional writer would look like. I was pleased to realize that this is what I want to pursue first and foremost in my career, at least as a way to get started in the industry. I've written several short screenplays, am currently working on the second draft of my first feature screenplay, am developing a limited-series script for television/streaming, and have so many more ideas for features in the future. I am dedicated to continuing to improve my craft daily and hope to find opportunities to collaborate and share work with other passionate artists on here!
