My name is Javier Martínez (Javo), I was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador. After finishing my studies in audiovisual communication at Casa Grande University the passion for photography took me to relate myself with major media professionals and learn more about this art. I became a self taught person in photography matters and started to film my own short films and videos.
I moved to Quito, Ecuador after my video entitled “Box” got the attention of a very important Ecuadorian tourism company that hired me to be in charge of the audiovisual production for the enterprise. For the next 3 years I traveled through Ecuador and mainly through the Galápagos islands making pictures, advertising commercials and films that show the biodiversity, culture and amazing landscapes of Ecuador.
The need to learn more about photography and cinematography specifically lead me to start a master program in cinema photography at ESCAC in Barcelona-Spain.
Today I live in Barcelona, have a master’s degree in Cinematography from ESCAC School and have developed new skills such as working in a studio environment, use and control of professional cinema cameras, teamwork among others that will help me to go for new adventures in the photography field.
