About Alicia
I'm a screenwriter and independent film professional in Austin with over ten years of experience in the business. I've edited, I've PA'd, I've done production design, production coordination, produced, been an intern at every local agency of note... You name it. My focus, at this point, is on writing. After immersion in the writing process over the past five years and some good gigs around Austin, including experience reading and writing coverage at Detour, I'm ready to analyze and professionally critique whatever you got. I got a BS from UT RTF in 2006 and an MFA in screenwriting at UT RTF in 2014. I'm over-educated and experienced, but unfortunately underpaid, like many others in this business. Documentary by Black/Bernstein Productions - Louis Black and Karen Bernstein Research Assistant A feature-length documentary on the life and work of filmmaker, Richard Linklater. Produced and Directed by Louis Black (founder of SXSW Festivals and the Austin Chronicle), this documentary for PBS’ American Masters series is an unusual look at a fiercely independent style of filmmaking that arose from Austin, Texas in the 1980s/ early 90’s. It is an unconventional look at how Linklater’s films of that period, Slacker, Dazed and Confused and Before Sunrise, sparked a low budget, in your own backyard movement in this country and around the world.
