I received my BA in Professional Writing, followed by an MA in English, followed by the Purgatory of teaching Freshman Comp for ten years. Yes, it was that bad. The only things that saved my sanity during my teaching days were Creative Writing and Intro to Film classes.
My love of film started at a very young age. My grandparents lived beside a drive-in theater. The usual Saturday night started with sneaking over to turn up the volume on the closest speakers. As we sat in our lawn chairs I would allow those films to take me to places I could only visit in my dreams.
When I entered high school I joined the theater and forensic teams. Our coach was a very detail oriented man. He stressed the classic, but was not adverse to method acting. There was not a year that our teams did not compete at the state or national level.
After high school I joined the USAF and saw the world. Well, the world as it existed in the Mojave Desert and Langley. It was during those times that I became interested in writing down the stories I heard.
Do not be fooled into thinking I am just a writer. I am an excellent mimic. I am practiced in all variations of southern dialect. I don't stop there. I am well versed in other American dialects and other accents that are beyond these shores.
You may look at my profile pic and assume that I am a bookworm or a nerd. However, I hold a black belt in hapkido and have participated in Ironman races.
Right now I am chasing my dreams from my childhood. I'm looking for a chance to help others achieve theirs in whatever way I can. So, if you need a Jack of All Trades and a Master of One look no further.
