About Persephonie

Persephonie Rose is a writer and filmmaker living in Los Angeles with her fiancee and too many cats. After graduating from the College of Motion Picture Arts at Florida State University in 2016, Persephonie was awarded a Screenwriting Fellowship with award-winning director, Antonio Mendez (Cannes 2012) during which she wrote her first feature film, Sabine, a drama set against the tumultuous background of the Syrian civil war.

"After witnessing the brutal massacre of her village by ISIS militants, teenage Syrian refugee turned sex-slave, Adhara is sold to the jihadist that murdered her father only to escape and be prosecuted for his crimes by the nation she petitions for asylum." Sabine (2016)

Persephonie is currently working on a television pilot and her first manuscript, a historical fiction series set in the Ottoman Empire. A lover of history, plot twists, and complex characters, you can find Persephonie writing surrounded by cats sipping steaming Earl Grey Tea.
