Harold Erkins is a well-rounded filmmaker and cinematographer born and raised in Shaker Heights, Ohio. His career in filmmaking started as early as 16 when he began filming and editing local theatre productions and making short films with friends. Editing multi-camera angle video of plays and directing his own body of work at the New York Film Academy was key to his acceptance at Syracuse University's School Visual and Performing Arts Film Production Program. While at Syracuse he had the opportunity to study abroad at Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, Czech Republic. There he would DP his first 35mm film production. After graduating Harold moved to Los Angeles where he continued to DP for independent productions and became a partner at VIP Productions LA. He helped VIP productions to maintain a dominant position in the wedding film industry by training employees in editing, cinematography, and professionalism. After 3 years in LA Harold moved back to the East coast where he currently pursues a career in cinematography and filmmaking.
