LOGLINE:

A story about a girl whos parents die in the Montana Rockies, forcing her to embark on a dangerous journey through the wilderness where she faces wild animals and finds love.

SYNOPSIS:

There is a powerful love shared in the small family living on the eastern slope of the Rocky Mountains in the dry desolation of the Montana wilderness. Dale and Corrie think of the future for their ten year old daughter, Gage, as the environment becomes less hospitable year after year.

They decide relocation is something they must do if they are going to continue to have their dreamed of life of living off the land, fishing, hunting and following their artistic passions. Thinking they may have found a place to move forward they begin a secret mission to create a new home, secret from Gage that is.

Corrie decides to take a late summer trip to their secret home to begin preparations for the move. She never returns.

Ten years later, Dale, long ago abandoning his futile search for his one great love has resigned to taking care of his daughter. He and Gage go on with their lives as best as they know how. The environment has become much more difficult to live off of and their days are generally filled with the tedium of survival.

A freak incident takes the life of Dale, leaving Gage alone to navigate the wild on her own. After a series of unfortunate events, Gage finds her situation unbearable and blaming God she finds herself staring down the barrel of a gun. Gripped by the memory of their families love she decides she must go on. If the memory of the secret place is real. She must find it.

Seeking out the help of a long lost friend, she embarks on a journey that restores her faith in nature, humanity, love, and God.
