About Tamara

When I started practicing the Egyptian art of belly dancing, I felt deep within me that this performing art was calling me, it had revealed itself to my soul.

I was fully aware of its beauty and grace and so I began my search for its roots and origins.
My journey took me to ancient Egypt 3000 years ago.

Throughout my years of training, I expanded and deepened my knowledge of its cultural and musical background as well as the history of the art of belly dancing, which spread throughout the Orient to Europe and finally conquered the whole world.

Over time, however, I also noticed that this dance was increasingly surrounded by controversy and clichés and even met with rejection.
But I found the solution to this problem and made it my life's work early on to give this oriental performing art back its dignity and honor.

Many dance forms such as ballet or ballroom dancing are highly regarded. However, as soon as the dancer begins to perform sensual hip movements, she is often sexualized. This is the case with samba, hula and belly dancing.
Samba and hula are protected dances and are highly valued by men and women in their countries of origin such as Cuba, Brazil or the Pacific.

These dances are part of the cultural heritage.
Belly dancing (Oriental dance) is a cultural heritage of the entire Orient and is highly valued by the educated class.
For example, by musicians, artists, poets, actors, etc.

Belly dancing originated as a private dance in the Kingdom of Egypt and was only later used to entertain the aristocracy.
The essence of the dance was a fertility ritual and the dancer served as a channel for divine energy.

Personally, I loved this form of dance from a very young age.
As a child, I enjoyed musical training and learned to play the cello.
In addition, I had acting lessons in the youth theater for several years.

The stage has always been my true home!
