Writer/Producer/Director with forty years of experience working in feature films, commercials and large format IMAX motion pictures.

Career that spans almost all aspects of motion picture production, including Line Producer of the Academy Award winning “GENOCIDE” to writing “THE RUGGER BUGGERS BAWDY SONG FEST.

Early career highlights:

Location Manager and one of the two cameramen on DYLAN THOMAS, starring Richard Burton, which won the late Jack Howells the Oscar for best director.

Working with John Daly at Hemdale, co-financed and produced the 40 minute SIMON SIMON for release on the Rank circuit. Guest stars included Peter Sellers, Michael Caine, David Hemmings, Morecambe & Wise, Bernie Winters and Bob Monkhouse, winning a special prize at the San Sebastian Film Festival.

Financed and produced the 30-minute support feature “29” for the Odeon Circuit, starring Alexis Kanner, Justine Lord and Robert Lang. The British Film Institute have listed the film as one of the best 35mm shorts of the 60’s. Due to be re-released in 2016.

Wrote, directed and produced TODAY MEXICO TOMORROW THE WORLD for Rank Films UK, a 30 minute co-feature on our “show biz” Hyde Park soccer, with guest stars Richard Harris, Tom Courtenay, Ian McShane, David Hemmings, Marty Feldman, Nicol Williamson and John Alderton. Hosted by Michael Parkinson.

Border Films Production of London, my first 90 minute comedy/drama feature film
THE ENGLISH GIRL ABROAD, since renamed NAUGHTY GIRLS which I wrote, produced, photographed and directed in the Far East. Locations were Malaysia, Bali and Australia.

Los Angeles years

After producing commercials and co-features for ten years in London with my company, Shillingford Lambe Associates, I relocated to Los Angeles at the request of producer and director George Lucas, having worked with him on STAR WARS: THE MAKING OF for 20th Century Fox as director and cinematographer at Elstree studios and in Tunisia.

Line Producer and Director of Photography in 1981 on GENOCIDE, the Academy Award winning feature documentary with Orson Welles and Elizabeth Taylor, financed by the Simon Wiesenthal Centre, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin.

Wrote, produced, directed and photographed many successful 3-D motion-simulation experiences that can still be found in theme parks all over the world including OLYMPIC BOBSLEIGH, HANG GLIDER, HELL’S ANGELS, HAUNTED GRAVEYARD, RUNAWAY SLEDGE, SKI BOARD RIDE and the now legendary, ROLLER COASTERS IN 3D.

Produced commercials in the United States for several major ad agencies and global clients such as AT&T, Ford, Shell, Xerox, United Airlines, Christian Brothers Wines (with Orson Welles) and the US Government Public Services (using Star Wars R2D2 and C3P0).

Large Format films and IMAX

Selected by GRAPHIC FILMS to be the IMAX Director of Photography on the 40 minute productions of SEASONS and FORD AUTO NEWS. Also one of four IMAX cinematographers on VOLCANOES: RING OF FIRE. Co-produced and co-wrote YOSEMITE in the IMAX format for the Large Format cinema circuit.

Director of photography on the Large Format 70mm films HAWAII: ISLANDS OF THE GODS, TIERRA DE GRACIA in Venezuela, and in Spain, SEGOVIA: BETWEEN TWO LIGHTS.

Produced, directed and photographed HIGHLANDER ll: THE MAKING OF in Argentina for DAVIS PANZER Productions, starring Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery, Virginia Madsen and Michael Ironside.
Worked for Universal TV as Second Unit Director and Director of Photography in the UK on THE RETURN OF SAM McCLOUD starring Dennis Weaver for the ABC Network.

Commissioned by various different production companies to write feature film scripts, including WITHOUT CONSENT, HIDE AND SEEK, DIVA UNPLUGGED, THREE MEN IN A BOAT, THERE TO BE TAKEN, and BLUE MOVIE, all of which are in different stages of pre-production.

My original screenplay, TRUCE 1914, based on the WW 1 Christmas truce has been released from its option by the UK production company ACE Ltd. My script PAPARAZZI UNLEASHED is also out of option from MGM as is the SAVAGE RED script from the Highlander series producers.

Provided expertise as a Large Format (IMAX, IWERKS) creative consultant, working with leading theme park designers on several interactive exhibits including; ICEBERG! ICEBERG! for Japan, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and Spain, SPRUCE GOOSE, a museum concept for the original Howard Hughes seaplane and other vintage aircraft, ZEPPELIN a Large Format theatre and restaurant experience destined for Atlantic City. AQUASPHERE, a CGI virtual reality aquarium for the US and global markets

Creative Consultant in Cape Town and Johannesburg to the proposed South African Antarctica Museum, GGM Commercials, Monex at Ratanga Junction Theme Park, in addition to various venture capital companies in South Africa.

I am a regular on the international lecture circuit giving film related presentations based on my career in the motion picture industry. Guest Lecturer on board cruise ships and at various film schools and universities around the world.

Creator of the Whitbread Round the World Yacht Race with Prime Minster Edward Heath in 1972. After negotiations with various international companies time was running out so Whitbread stepped in took the project under sail for a minimum fee.

Other projects are Rollin' Showers, a double decker London bus equipped with showers and coffee bar for the homeless.

Now based in London creating a series of Rolling Stones digital artworks from my own personal library of 1968 photographs. Completing the update of the various projects on and writing two stage musicals “BELLA’S CLUB NASHVILLE” and “THE RUGGER BUGGERS BAWDY SONGFEST” about to go crowdfunding on Indiegogo.
