About Dayra
Born and Raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, I am a Key 2nd AD in local and international films that come to the island. I graduated in 2019 with a Bachelors in Film Production from the University of the Sacred heart and have been working in the industry since then. In 2018 I wrote and directed my first non-fiction short film "Por Ti" which won several awards and laurels; as well as a nomination for Best Short Film in the NATAS Emmy's 2019 Edition. Whenever I'm not working as a 2nd AD, I try to keep active producing and directing. I have directed and produced three music videos and one short form documentary. I am currently looking to expand my knowledge in scriptwriting and directing in which I hope to meet possible future mentors.
Unique traits: I'm a fan of sharpness, organization and structure. I love teaching others everything I know about AD'ing. You will always find me with a smile on set or basecamp.
