About Phil

Born into a showbiz family, with every finger in a different creative pie.

I have trained as an actor and audio engineer, worked as a musician and music producer, directed for stage and screen. Worked in film post-production editing and sound. I have taught all aspects of screen at various colleges. Was also an IT journalist for over 20 years writing for major computer and music magazines. I have produced and presented video podcasts and been active in community film groups.

But for all the different creative pies I have stuck my fingers in over the past forty-plus years I have always identified myself mostly as a writer. At 17 I wrote my first stage musical. I have written screenplays, stage plays, standalone songs, and novels.

I have written and produced several films – shorts and features; four musicals (Book, Music and Lyrics); and have authored two books to date, including the non-fiction "F*&k Art, Just Tell the Story", a comprehensive guide for the indie filmmaker. I have also released an album of music independently under the band name "GuffNasm".

I am a storyteller – whatever form that may take. To find out more visit: www.philmoore.net
