About Julio

As a filmmaker coming from the small island of Jamaica, I believe in visual storytelling that injects one’s personal story and compels a purposeful conversation about the art. I suppose most filmmakers have a specific moment they can recall being the foundation to their career path. Growing up in Jamaica, my access to television was very limiting and movie theaters did not exist. I had no concept of what movie theaters were until I came to the United States. I realized shortly after my second year in college that I had a place in the film industry.During my last semester of my second year, I presented a music video for my final project that had my class in tears.To kind of put things into perspective, the stories I tell through a lens tend to be extremely personal (as It should ).
