Corene’s Lemaitre scriptwriting credits include 'Admission' for Ten, an evening of new writing at the Traverse Theatre, and four short pieces for their Words Words Words series. Her play Savages progressed to the second round of the Verity Bargate playwriting competition at the Soho Theatre and was performed at the Forest Studio in Edinburgh.
She was accepted to the 2009 BBC Radio Drama Lab. She was a semi-finalist in the Chesterfield Screenwriting Contest, sponsored by Paramount, and the Warner Bros Comedy Writing Competition.
Her novel April Rising (HarperCollins UK) received praise from The New York Times Book Review, The Observer (UK) and other periodicals. It was highlighted as a ‘Hot Book for Spring’ by Barnes & Noble and was a main selection of the British book club Mango.
She was awarded first prize in the World Wide Writers international short fiction competition for her story ‘Behold the Man’.

Corene has a BFA in drama from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she held University and Paulette Goddard scholarships and studied acting with Stella Adler.
