I first encountered the world of fantasy and film through my love of books and old Hammer movies. Impressed by writers such as Terry Brooks, Ursula le Guin, Robert E Howard and C S Lewis, I spent my early childhood living in these fantastical realms. Friday night was always Hammer night, my father allowed me to stay up and indulge in classics such as The Devil Rides Out to the macabre delights of the Scars Of Dracula. These films and others like them left an imprint on me. I have the utmost admiration for directors and composers such as Terry Gillian, John Milius, Basil Poledouris and Ennio Morricone. Combined with my interest of all things historical - particularly Celtic/Norse Mythology/Archaeology - they inspire me greatly whether I'm writing, composing or directing.
