About Robyn

Robyn Paris is a director and screenwriter with 14 years experience writing/directing Virtual Reality, features, television and web series for production companies, tech companies and not-for-profits. Robyn wrote, directed and produced the original comic web series "The Room Actors: Where Are They Now?" which premiered at the 2016 Raindance, then screened at dozens of web festivals worldwide including 2017 HollyShorts. She won the "Best Director of a Pilot" award at the Chicago Comedy Film Festival, "Best Ensemble Cast" at HollyWeb, was nominated for "Best Comedy" at the Vancouver Web Fest, "Best Mockumentary" at Miami Web Fest and "Best Original Idea" at Rio Web Fest. The series launched in partnership with Funny or Die and acquired over 1M+ views.

Robyn graduated from UCLA's school of Theatre, Film and TV with an MFA in Screenwriting. In addition to winning the prestigious Samuel Goldwyn Screenwriting Award (2nd place), she is the recipient of the Jack Nicholson Prize in Screenwriting, the Harmony Gold Award for Excellence in Screenwriting, the National Association of Theatre Owners of California/Nevada Fellowship in Screenwriting, and the Oliver’s Prize for Excellence in Screenwriting for Children. She was also nominated for the Humanitas Prize in Screenwriting while a student at UCLA. Robyn has optioned feature scripts to producers at all the major studios.

Originally from Greensboro, NC, Robyn received her B.A. in Public Policy Studies with a certificate in Health Policy from Duke University. Before becoming a director and screenwriter, Robyn performed improvisation with The Second City Chicago, Improv Olympic in Chicago, the Groundlings, and at IO West.
