Fred Gratzon: Producer, playwright and author in Fairfield, Iowa.

I've written the lyrics and book for a musical and have teamed with three young composers. (I found one of those composers here on Stage 32.) Everything has been written and workshopped (in a half-assed, Covid-style, Zoomy way). Orchestration is under way.

I've recently switched gears and started to self-produce it. I'm entrepreneurial to a fault. What I lack in brains, talent, and experience, I more than make up for in enthusiasm and chutzpah (aka brass balls). Right now, I'm on the prowl for folks to join me in the glorious, incomparable process of creative collaboration. In other words, I need everything—a director, choreographer, actors, lighting expert, puppet/costume maker, animator, projection maven, rigging expert, etc. and lots and lots of green back a dollars (which I promise, unlike the Kingston Trio song, I give a damn about and won't spend as fast as I can).

It's taken me almost 76 years to discover the joys of musical theatre, but having finally found it, I've never had more fun. I'm currently submitting applications to various competitions and festivals. That too is a rush.
