A group of teens stuck at a Catholic Texas delinquent detention ranch, juggle questionable growing pains, un-idyllic conditions, and teenage complexities, while finding themselves in absurd situations that lead to crazy adventures.
SYNOPSIS:
A 7 half-hour Neo-Western teen comedy-drama.
Follows the lives of the students and staff at the fictional Catholic Star Cross Ranch in picturesque Texas– sounds like a serene place tucked away amongst the beautiful skies and rolling plains of land. But don't be fooled. It's actually a juvenile detention ranch that takes in troubled youth. Drunk, Stoned or Stupid… weaves the story of five teens who challenge the not-so-idyllic ranch’s status quo, while finding themselves in absurd situations that lead to crazy adventures. Eccentric Asian-American bad girl Quinn Patel has just arrived as the ranch’s newest screw-up. She might be the talk of the ranch but quickly makes friends with four different longstanding students. Sterling James, a former party girl and kleptomaniac; Oliver Cash, a Southern upper-crust drug dealer; GW Wells, a musical prodigy who got arrested for underage drinking; and Doyle Griffin, a used-to-be jock turned stoner who got high set his former prep school on fire. Not only does this interesting group take Quinn under their wing but make her apart of their humorous, messy, and troublesome daily lives. The now five (mostly) loyal group, find themselves contended with various dilemmas while peeling back the layers of who they each are, realizing that they face similar insecurities despite their differences. The wildly odd yet deeply bonded teens try to deal with the pains of growing up, as their comedic closeted gay counselor Father Ashby and strict head sister-in-charge Sister Mary try to keep their cool amongst the group's relentless chaos.
