Film critic for and a budding filmmaker with a number of gestating screenwriting projects.
I'm educated in the theory of film to a Masters level, specialising in auteurism. My Bachelor's dissertation was on authorship in the modern day studio model of Hollywood, while my Masters dissertation was specifically focused on authorship and the cinema of poetry.
I have plenty of practical experience behind the camera (studio/field), as director in a television studio setting and as a screenwriter/director of a number of long-lost visual student projects.
I'm inspired by the work of Terrence Malick and Sidney Lumet of whom I believe give power to words on the screen like very few others, with the former's visual style being a marvel of the industry in my opinion.
For fun, I like lone visits to the cinema, podcasting, in-depth discussions about films with friends and researching this wonderful art form.
