Author, public speaker, and military chaplain (lieutenant colonel). My writing and commentary have been featured in a number of different outlets, including USA Today, and American Forces Network (AFN) Korea. I recently published a new book, "A Long Way from Crenshaw: Lessons and Stories about Race, Love, Honor, and Faith for These Changing Times." My previous book is entitled, "Touch and Go: From the streets of South Central Los Angeles to the war in Iraq. During my college days, I wrote and directed a play entitled "Bloods: The Black Man's Experience During The Vietnam War." My military decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service medal, and one combat tour in Iraq. I earned graduate degrees from Howard University (D.Min and M.Div) and Princeton Theological Seminary (Th.M).
