About Momir

Born on the 26th of October 1989. in Belgrade, Serbia.
As a boy he expressed himself through visual storytelling and he developed an affinity for horror aesthetics. He made his first short movie in 1998. After finishing high school for design he went on to study filmmaking at the London Film Academy where he graduated in 2011. Soon after, he went on to direct “Jackhammer Hit to the Head” (2012). His following short films “Bleak” (2014) and “Bleakness” (2015) got him significant media attention in Belgrade and he managed to get a local audience introduced to his work. His debut film “Open Wound”, a dislocated black and white drama, completed in 2016., got critical acclaim. His major influences have been the works by Roman Polanski, John Carpenter and Lars Von Trier as well as survival horror video games such as Silent Hill and Resident Evil. Through film, he expresses himself, signifies the importance of emotions, sound and the most surprising factor - his personal fears projected on the screen.
