Now, I seriously doubt that Agatha saw even close to as much cabbage when she published her book in 1934. Green also wrote the script for Blade Runner 2049 and Logan and he's pulling down the kind of dough many of us dream of making for a screenplay. I've attached this article about Michael, who used to have two piles of script in his apartment. One stack was for famous scripts he read that were better than the ones he wrote. The other for famous scripts worse than his. As time passed for him, the "better than" pile got smaller. Now, he's playing in the major leagues. Are you a good enough writer to have someone invest millions of dollars in a script you wrote? http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/features/meet-michael-green-writer-4-ma...

I definitely have to do more of that!

I learned the format as I wrote my entry. I ended up making it to the second round, which I interpreted to mean that I was well on my way to being a Hollywood screenwriter (ha!). Alas, I didn't make the cut after that. I'm a professional writer now, as a salaried content producer for a company. I've been published on my own a few times, but never enough to pay the bills. My job is a great gig but what I really want to do is freelance (technology), write some fiction, and write some screenplays. It would be amazing to hook into the Michigan film community and see some of my work produced through the small budget filmmakers or youtube creators. I have no idea how to do this, and only a couple of screenplays written so far, but that's my short term goal.
I'm constantly impressed with how much work and talent goes into a good screenplay. It isn't just a new format of writing, it's like a whole new way of thinking. I love exploring writing through new methods or new ways of telling a story, and I just love writing dialogue. I'm really excited about doing more with this format.
So I hope to learn a lot while I'm here and maybe as I progress I can share that with you guys and someone can learn from me too.
Also, thanks to Richard "RB" Botto for following me on twitter and introducing me to stage 32!
