Daily Improvisation on Piano ( Aug, 10th, 2017)

I do this, and have been doing this, everyday for the past 15 years. It is an exercise to increase my improvisational skills and in general, be able to create spontaneous lifelike music on the spot. This time....I went for baroque, hopefully to your ears not the garden variety "attempt' at sounding like something, but in this case, like someone ready to challenge Bexthude, and Bach in a play-off.

Scene 1 : Landline : Music & Orchestration by Wesley Lawrence Curry II

Opening scene (with Director, Writer Matthew Aaron) Ted Gout has been camping and breaks from his friends over the use of technology and cell phones during the 'get away' from it all time, But is apprehended and wrongfully accused of a crime in the area that he did not commit, Once in the Police Station he begins telling the story to Detective Don Garret (Nick Searcy). The Director called for some fun upbeat action oriented music to begin the musical score.

:30 Film Clip "Idiot".mp4

30 second music teaser clip from the Indie Feature Length Comedy Landline. Co-Starring Betsy Brandt & Jim O"Heir. The entire score was appx: 1 1/2 hours of orchestral music, created by me in a teeny tiny apartment on the North Shore of Chicago late last summer. The first words the Director gave me the day I was hired was......think.....Shirley McLain and Jack Lemmon in the Apartment. Its my first "BIG" break in my "from wrags to paper towel" story. Used the chops I honed while improvising on stage live in The Second City to create most of the music.
