About Lydia

Lydia is an actor, playwright, screenwriter, and dramaturge currently living in upstate NY. She has performed in plays and musicals all over and beyond the NYS Capital District, from Albany and Latham to New Paltz and Rhinebeck, as well as in several independent films. She also played a sheep, a doll, and the Virgin Mary (twice) in various Episcopalian Christmas pageants.

Lydia's plays have been presented in Albany, New Paltz, and most recently in New York City. Her one-act "Party Talk" was read at the Barrow Group Theatre in Manhattan in 2016; her WWII play "Adele in Berlin" placed as a finalist in the Strawberry One-Act Festival in Harlem in 2015, and her WWII play "Tinted Red" placed as a finalist for the Women in Theatre Program's 2016 Jane Chambers Award. This annual award recognizes plays created by women that present a feminist perspective and contain significant opportunities for female performers. She kinda likes writing about women and the 1940s, as you might be able to tell. Oh, and parties.

Lydia just finished drafts of her first two screenplays, "Mortal Enemies: An Alien Love Story" and "A Good Time Call". It turns out screenwriting is really fun! She'd do it all the time if you didn't have to go get the movies MADE as well. Geez. Lydia’s primary mission as an artist is to produce engaging and instructive pieces that expose audiences to diverse perspectives in history, particularly those of women. And sometimes an alien makes it in there.

Unique traits: Golden gravity-defying hair, arresting cerulean eyes, a personality akin to cream soda (sweet, bubbly, and always leaving you wanting more), heaps of compassion for her fellow humans, and an imagination more active than the Executive Branch's Twitter account (with 200% less spite)!
