John Mezes great meeting you as well, sir. My most recent role was in the film 39 seconds, I played the lead role, John Donaldson. He’s a very accomplished historical figure in baseball. I had the honor of being nominated for the Breakthrough performance award at the twin cities film festival. I believe it’s the only festival the film has screened.
I love the stage as well. My favorite role was as Levee in “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.”
I am currently fundraising for a film I wrote called Both Sides of the River.
I’m excited to learn more about you John, tell me about your work and successes.
Surely, but first, congrats on your accomplishments. They sound wonderful, and your happiness with what you do resonates in how you describe them.
In my four years of serious scriptwriting, since 2017, I've completed five feature scripts of different genres. My first one, "Garden of Eden", a drama/comedy, was optioned, then purchased, and is now in pre-production in two locations, Odessa Ukraine and NY. The studio is casting for it, and has attracted some great actors to the project. I was invited on set in NY when they begin filming there. Another one of my scripts, "Home", a horror feature, placed as a quarterfinalist in this year's Screencraft Screenwriting Fellowship Contest, and is ranked in the top 25% off Horror projects on Coverfly. I submitted three short horror scripts to the Killer Shorts Contest, and one short and a feature script to the NYC Screenplay Competition.
Working on a feature script now, and have a meeting with an established screenwriter tomorrow about another script. Did my first guest spot on a show on Instagram and I co-host the Thursday Night Pitch Practice Sessions @5:30 (PST) right here on Stage 32. 2021 has been so exciting for me. I can't wait to add to it in 2022.
