A woman in her 60s is laid off and tries to find another job during the COVID-19 pandemic.
SYNOPSIS:
Patty Collins, 63, is assembling sandwiches in a large cold kitchen area. It's 2020 and many of the workstations are empty. An intercom instructs Patty to come to Human Resources.
Patty comes home to her spouse, adult son, and her mother who has dementia. She announces that she got laid off.
Patty makes a concerted and continuing effort to find a job while caring for her mother. Her son, also unemployed, isn't doing much of anything.
After an eight-month search she gets an interview for a job as a server. The job requires wearing a risqué uniform. She gets an offer and accepts the job.
She is much younger than the other servers but outperforms them. The partner who hired her is very happy with his decision.
