Wayne Johnson

My background is diverse, but as far as it relates to entertainment, I was a professional musician for a few years before and after I got drafted into the army. I worked as a stage and, as a film actor, I had speaking roles in industrial films and a half-dozen or so appearances as an extra in features. I'm a former Creative Director at Sourcebooks, Inc. and I currently do book and cover designs, as well as ghostwrite, for small publishers and self-published authors. I write a bi-weekly humor column for The Voice, a northeastern Illinois newspaper. I've had about a dozen short stories published, and have recently published a novel: The Militarized Zone: What Did You Do in the Army, Grandpa? Some years back I designed a book for John Travolta's sister-in-law and at the book launch in Hollywood I met some screenwriters, which got me interested in screenwriting. My scripts have done well in contests (won an award from Writers Digest among others), but nothing sold yet. Currently, I'm shopping an adaption of the book Bedlam on the West Virginia Rails by Wilson Casey about the last moving train robbery in America.
