As a child, I dreamed of teaching or writing. After college, I accomplished the dream of teaching--Language Arts. I've taught speech and drama, creative writing, and journalism. I've directed plays--You Can't Take It With You was my favorite. As a second-year advisor, the yearbook staff was recognized in the top 2 percent nationwide for theme development. For 20 years in the classroom, I told students when I grew up I wanted to be a writer. I just finished a revised edition of The Dreamin' Tree, 2008. The sequel is my WIP, Tangled Dreams, which I hope to have in print by summer or fall. My husband says I write smut so I thought I'd omit an innocent little scene. He said, "Oh, no. Leave it in. Smut sells." I'm rethinking my market.
My new dream is to meet Tim McGraw. I took my title, The Dreamin' Tree, from his song, "She's My Kind of Rain". Finding the perfect title was an eight-year ordeal. The book owes its life to Tommy Lee James and Robin Lerner' beautiful song.
Sharolynne Barth is my pseudonym.
