This is a barn lantern. Do not let me catch you using anything with glass in a barn, stable, or anywhere there's hay. They used punched lanterns and there are specific patterns (this one is authenticated as by Old Sturbridge Village from the 1700's). No glass unless they wanted to start a fire. Cool? :)
