About Robert

EXECUTIVE PROFILE.
Robert Andiwo – Scriptwriter.
Robert Andiwo is a passionate writer who enjoys the art of telling stories and apart from being a writer who is still looking to produce his first either feature film or TV series, It’s not because of lack of content to produce but his Achilles heel being lack of funds to hire the necessary equipment and handle the logistics of his crew and cast. He understands well that there is more than one role film maker/s play during the life of a film and the first job is to find money once everything is in place which is basically the stage he is at now with his individual projects.
“I am really up to the challenge of telling stories that are rich in entertainment value for the purpose of viewing on both big and small screen. The time has now come to realize this dream and as the saying goes if one is lucky, a solitary fantasy can totally transform one million realities” he says.
For film, it all begins with the scripts. From the scripts life is captured and translated into actions that come alive for many to watch, feel and enjoy and quite frankly you never really know how good your story is until the cameras start recording. Thus, good quality scripts are the perquisite ingredient for making good movies. Robert has accordingly written scripts like Field of Wheat which is a feature film, Family Affairs, which is a TV series, Fallen From the Tree which is another TV series plus a couple more scripts Like Casting Couch co Written with Gitura Kamau who is the Creative Director of Fly On The Wall Production, with commitment knowing that they will become a film/show that many will truly love and enjoy.
He has done some film production work with GINGER INK FILMS AFRICA, where he has gained experience in certain areas of being in a film crew. Being a production assistant at Ginger ink, he was able to learn a lot during the shooting of SENSE 8 and The shooting of an INTENATIONAL commercial Internet.org, that was shot in BRAZIL, KENYA and the PHILIPINES and his last project at GINGER INK was working with them on a film that is soon to be released KATI KATI, that is a co-production between Ginger Ink Films and One Fine Day films, the same co-production that gave us films like Nairobi Half-life and VEVE. He also just started working with Eddie IRURA from the film Magazine doing articles for the film magazine and his first article just got published days ago and can be viewed following this link .ke/film-in-kenya/idea-theft certainly with more to follow soon. “I would say despite my work not yet being produced due to mainly financial setbacks, I am equipped as a writer who bears the qualities you are looking for, I first learned how to script myself and I have worked with qualified producers like Betty Kathungu Furet of Furet Films and Gitura Kamau face to face with the responsibility of the script development laid upon my shoulders where by some of the scripts we worked on were submitted to the on-going MAISHA MAGIC COMMISIONING and we are still waiting on feedback, I have the skills of script development at my fingertips, from doing the treatment, doing the detailed character bible which includes details like (character’ Mission, Greatest needs, Obstacles, Weaknesses, Defining gestures, Activities and so on) together with building their inter character relationships, been there done it, if need be I can provide extracts of some of my scripts with are done in the correct writing format as I normally use Final Draft to do my script writing”.
