SYNOPSIS:

Crafted around the music and lyrics of Billy Joel, a stranger appears in a crumbling neighborhood of Allentown, Pa. He convinces Virginia, who just graduated class of ‘68, to seek her fame and fortune on Broadway. Her dreams of being an Uptown Girl are dashed the moment she ends up in the West Village, living above the Piano Man’s club Captain Jack’s. Misdirected and confused; she falls into the dangerous drug enticing rabbit hole. News of her brother being killed in Vietnam sends her into a suicidal tailspin. Her friends convince her She is Only Human and promise her a new River of Dreams.
