About Jordan

Jordan Schaffner was born in Chicago, and transplanted to beautiful downtown Burbank when he was a child by his parents. His father was a TV repairman who fixed a TV for a Warner Brothers executive that gave him free tickets to tour the studio, which was at the time, featuring "The Great Race," starring Tony Curtis, Natalie Wood, and Jack Lemon. This was hypnotic to Jordan, who got the storytelling bug to make movies. He was a journalist and a top actor at Simi Valley High School. He took filmmaking classes in junior college and spent a whole holiday season editing his first humorous documentary, "The Tragedy of Comedy." He also did an animated parody of "Jaws" called "Gums," about a senior citizen shark.

Though he wanted to attend Sherwood Oaks Experimental College, featuring Mel Brooks and Woody Allen as guest speakers, his parents encouraged him to go to a University instead. He attended UC Santa Cruz in the Creative Writing program, which was taught by Alfred Hitchcock's cousin, playwright, George Hitchcock, who hosted staged readings in their Victorian mansion. In college, he wrote a Freudian trilogy, where Freud goes through Dante's Divine Comedy, called the " Idivine Comedy." One of the scripts, called "The Smorgasborgatory,"" got him representation with the Lin Radman agency. He wrote a new script, "International Hearts" which got the attention of Rodney Dangerfield. He has 12 scripts to his credit including the newest one, "The Emperor of Flying Cars, has also published a novel called "Naked Skydiving."

Unique traits: Very versatile, visceral, yet optimistic screenwriter who likes to write about ethereal subjects, with a comedic twist. I've written over 10 scripts, and my newest feature screenplay, "The Emperor of Flying Cars" is available for acquisition and production. Certified in NL video editing, graphic design and digital marketing. I also have a few short films available for distribution.
