About Chas

Hello, I am Chas Harrington. I’m a director and screenwriter based in the UK.

I have directed numerous award winning short films, I have included links to each below. The first one, Calamity Bot has screened at over 15 festivals including Los Angeles Lift-Off, Independent Shorts Awards and was a Top Pick for Thundr’s streaming platform. It won Best Comedy Short at the Independent Shorts Awards, Best Short Film at CKF Int Film Fest and was a Finalist for LA Lift-Off.

A year later I directed two more short films, Red Room and Happy Man. Red Room is a thriller short I made as a concept for a feature I wrote the previous year. The short film was a finalist at That Film Festival and screened as part of the Lift-Off Sessions, it has also been selected to screen at 10 more festivals throughout the year pending covid restrictions.

Happy Man is a 30 minute large scale short film starring Andrew Laithwaite (Gangs of London HBO) and featuring Ralph Prosser (Alex Rider, How To Build A Girl). The film was completed earlier this year and has already started picking up selections at Lift-Off, Flickfair and RoleCall. The screenplay for which was acclaimed by River City script editor Claire Russel and won at Sunday Shorts Film Fest.

This year I am working on two more feature screenplays, two short scripts as well as a science-fiction novel, which at some point within the next year I intend on directing and seeking LOIs/funding.
