By Val Chernyavskiy

GENRE: Action, Drama
LOGLINE:

In 1920s Chicago, naive young Robert falls in love with the daughter of a powerful mobster, plunging him into a world of crime and changing his life forever.

SYNOPSIS:

In 1920s Chicago, 15-year-old Robert, a kind and naive young man, falls for 17-year-old Dorothy. He knows nothing about her parents and is unaware that she is the daughter of the powerful mobster Don Salvatore. Driven by feelings of love and affection for Dorothy, Robert wants to get to know her and win her heart.

As Robert watches Dorothy, he attracts the attention of her father, Don Salvatore. Soon, Salvatore’s goons bring Robert in to meet the Don. Salvatore warns Robert that love is not the most important thing and accepts him into his "family," with the condition that there will be no turning back. Driven by his indifference to everything except Dorothy, Robert agrees and declares his willingness to give up everything for her.

Robert begins his training with the mobsters, learning boxing, physical conditioning, racketeering, and extortion. Don Salvatore arranges a date for Robert and Dorothy, but she behaves haughtily and pretentiously. Dorothy declares that she must be pursued and that her husband should earn millions of dollars a day. This evokes hatred in Robert.

Years later, Robert becomes a seasoned and hardened mobster. At his wedding to Dorothy, Robert has a miserable look on his face. Don Salvatore stretches his cheeks into a forced smile, and a photographer captures the groom’s feigned joy. Don shows Robert a fist, and he smiles. Now selfish and embittered, Robert realizes he hates himself for what he has become.

Character Transformation: Robert transforms from a kind and naive altruist into a bitter and selfish criminal.
